David B. Kaplan is a Business Growth and Development Consultant who brings practice, skills and experience from a wide variety of business and legal positions. As a former financial advisor with the Global Private Client division at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Kaplan has established an invaluable network of diverse business contacts spanning many industries. Calling upon his previous experience in business, law and teaching, Mr. Kaplan provides business development services and guidance to a select group of society-enriching private companies and individual entrepreneurs. Mr. Kaplan combines industry knowledge, consistent communication and personal support to keep clients on course and in disciplined pursuit of their business development goals and dreams.

In 1988, Mr. Kaplan received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at San Diego, a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of San Diego in 1991, and a Masters-In-Teaching degree from Whitworth University in 1994. Mr. Kaplan has been an active member of the California State Bar since 1991. He recently received an Honorable Discharge from a 12-year commission as a Judge Advocate General (JAG) officer, ending his career serving as the five-state, Regional Defense Counsel for the 22d Legal Support Organization in its Inland Northwest area of operation. As an Army JAG Officer, Mr. Kaplan had provided legal services, advice and counseling to commanders, soldiers and retirees since 1996.

Prior to forming SOS and working at Merrill Lynch, Mr. Kaplan taught for 11 years in Washington and Idaho public schools, after successful positions with a civil and business litigation firm located on California’s Monterey Peninsula. Mr. Kaplan began his legal career in the prosecutor’s offices of the U.S. Attorney and District Attorney in San Diego.

Mr. Kaplan has been selected as the exclusive, authorized representative and general partner of Manna Investments, LP, an investor group targeting society-enriching, growing companies for capital investment. Mr. Kaplan and his wife, Lisa, have recently established The Water-Walking Foundation in February 2007 to lend spiritual, financial and networking support to philanthropic efforts in the U.S. and abroad.
